Industrialisation has hardly affected our region, but what was
once a handicap is now a great opportunity.
We are able to share the quality of life we enjoy in a protected
environment. We are often referred to as the "water tower
of Provence", which is borne out by our numerous natural
and artificial lakes. Marseilles obtains its water supply from
the Durance and Verdon rivers. The crystal clear spring waters
that refresh you during your hikes are sometimes collected and
bottled, such as the Montclar spring which emerges at an altitude
of 1650 m, well protected from any risk of pollution.
